Higher Pain Training

Higher Pain Training is an optional unit essential for all trainees who would like to progress to Advanced Pain Training; the RCoA and Faculty of Pain Medicine recommend that this is the minimum level of competency required for trainees considering a future consultant post with an interest in Acute Pain. Trainees should become fully competent in the assessment and management of acute surgical, acute non-surgical and acute on chronic pain in all patients and circumstances. They should have knowledge and skills in the management of chronic and cancer pain and become an effective member of a multi-professional pain management service.

All Higher Pain Trainees are requested to register with the Faculty, please download the form HERE and return it fpm@rcoa.ac.uk.
